Karibe Mechanical Service is a family-owned, state-certified Mechanical Contractor (CMC 1249885). We install and service air conditioning systems for Florida’s homebuilders and the homeowners who move into their communities, from Florida City to Vero Beach.
Our story
It started with a plastic table and an open garage door.
In 2011, Carlos Fernandez left a career as a Construction Manager for one of the nation’s largest homebuilders and started Karibe on his Mechanical Contractor license, working out of the garage of the home he shares with his wife, Ivette Bermudez. There was no air conditioning in the garage, so the door stayed open for circulation. Plans were read on a plastic table. Material was bought only after each install or repair had been sold.
What Carlos brought from the builder side was a construction manager’s view of the trade: the HVAC contractor is either the reason a house is on schedule or the reason it is not. Karibe was built to be the first kind, with crews on the lot when the schedule says, rough-ins that pass the first time, and a warranty department that answers the homeowner so the builder’s team does not have to.
In 2013 came the leap of faith: a first small rented warehouse. In 2016 the company bought its own facility in Miami, and in 2025 it expanded north with a second location in Fort Pierce. Karibe has been under contract with multiple homebuilders on production communities across South Florida and the Treasure Coast, with multiple crews on the road every day.

2011
Karibe Mechanical Service is founded on Carlos’s Mechanical Contractor license, working out of the family garage with the door open and a plastic table for plans.
2013

Karibe purchases its own facility in Miami, still home to the main office and warehouse space today.

A second location opens in Fort Pierce, putting a crew within reach of every active community on the Treasure Coast.

Before founding Karibe in 2011, Carlos spent years as a Construction Manager for a national homebuilder, overseeing trades, schedules, and inspections on production communities. He built Karibe to be the HVAC contractor he always wanted to hire.

Ivette Bermudez
Director of Operations
Ivette has run the operations side of Karibe since the garage days. She oversees scheduling, dispatch, warranty coordination, and the office and warehouse teams in Miami and Fort Pierce — the day-to-day that keeps multiple communities on schedule at once. If you have called the office, you have probably worked with her team.

Our Miami facility houses the main office and several warehouse spaces; Fort Pierce covers the Treasure Coast with one very large warehouse of its own. Together that is over 50,000 sq. ft. of space to acquire, secure, and store equipment for the communities we serve across six counties on Florida’s east coast.
